Your samples benefit research

The FHRB Biobank stores samples and data relating to the samples for the needs of research in the field of hematology. Coded samples can be made available for studies investigating methods for the better prevention, more accurate diagnosis, or more effective treatment and follow-up of hematological disorders.

Researchers must request access to the samples in writing if they wish to use them for research purposes. The Steering Group of the biobank decides on the basis of the study protocol whether samples and data will be made available for the study.

The release of samples always requires a written agreement. The recipients of the samples are obliged to publish the results of their research and return the sample analysis data to the biobank. Information from which the sample donor could be identified is never disclosed by the biobank when access to samples and data is granted.
